Qualitative or quantitative or a blend of both the worlds, a questionnaire should be constructed while keeping the following in mind:
The length: How much time can your target audience give you for filling up your questionnaire? Answer that before finalizing the number of questions
Pilot testing: Do not send your questionnaire flying towards all your participants. Instead, try it out on few members of your respondents and see if the responses can answer your research questions or not.
The language: Relax your shoulders and write easy. Do not show how good your vocabulary is. The questionnaire must be understandable by all.
